Become a WASS Ambassador
Widening Access and Student Success (WASS) Ambassadors are responsible for engaging with prospective and current UH students, supporting the work of WASS to address barriers to accessing and succeeding in higher education. This will include working with students in primary and secondary schools, further education/sixth form and those studying at UH.
Ambassadors will share their own student story and experiences of university life, promoting a positive view of higher education and acting as a role model for any young people and current students that they work with.
You can expect to:
- Be involved in Q&As,
- Lead campus tours,
- Support and present at in-school and on-campus talks,
- Support large events,
- Check in with first year students that are settling in and signposting them to relevant support,
- Be part of an amazing team, have loads of fun and meet new friends!
If you want to develop your work experience alongside your studies and work with a growing team who are committed to supporting students of all ages and backgrounds then we would love to hear from you. We are looking for candidates who understand the barriers and challenges faced by underrepresented groups in Higher Education, who want to be involved in the work of WASS.
Training and development is offered to all ambassadors and there are plenty of opportunities to grow and progress within the role. The work is flexible and you get to choose the shifts and activities that interest you and that fit around your course commitments.
